[TRANS] 110105 Micky Yoochun’s Fanclub Makes A Warm Donation

On the 31st of December, the day Micky Yoochun (Park Yoochun) won the Best Male Newcomer Award at the KBS Drama Awards as ‘Lee Seon Joon’ in ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’, Park Yoochun’s fanclub gifted Kim Jin Su (13), who is suffering from a brain lesion disorder, with presents and a donation. Their story was aired on KBS 2TV’s News Time on January 3rd.

Though Jin Su’s mother herself is fighting with cancer, she lives every day nursing her son who is unable to move his arms or legs freely. Park Yoochun’s fanclub ‘Blessing Yoochun’ heard about the mother and son’s situation through Field of Love (withgo.kr) and immediately began collecting donations. They sent 5 million Won to pay for Jin Su’s treatment along with other presents to the hospital in Daegu that Jin Su is currently admitted in.

The members of the fanclub who visited the hospital with a Field of Love worker had tears in their eyes as they watched over Jin Su, who breathes through a tube in his throat and eats with a tube connected to his stomach. One member cheered on the mother and son as she stated, “I hope his mother stays strong, and I hope great things happen to them from now on.”

The members of Blessing Yoochun are ‘Auntie fans’ and are people who overflow with love, not just for their favorite celebrity, but also for the community and those in need. Other than their donation to Kim Jin Su, they also donated 10 million Won to Park Hyun Bin (12) to pay for his burn-healing treatment fees through the Hanlim Burns Foundation.

Blessing Yoochun is a fanclub that only women over the age of 30 can join and the members unite through their love for Yoochun to help the community.

[Trans] 101108 Park Yoochun’s “Jealous of Lee Seonjun who has many Friends” 5:1 Dreamy Interview

Even grandma fans are shocked that kindergarden children called Yoochun “Lee Seonjun!”
Park Yoochun felt new about this change. Singer Micky Yoochun is an idol, a figure for the hardcore fans, but he couldn’t believe that grandma fans and children would recognize him.

“Is this the power of television dramas?” KBS “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” lead character Lee Seonjun had lived for 6 months, although it’s very tiring, his heart is contented. “In TVXQ, JYJ, I’m Micky Yoochun; as an actor, I’m Park Yoochun. This feeling is great”

Due to conflicting schedules between JYJ World Tour and the filming of the drama, Park Yoochun has to organize his day, especially to continue with his overseas performances and the filming. After the filming of the drama, his body was not in good condition too. Although he’s unwell, he still wanted to talk to the fans; thus Park Yoochun had joined us in Seoul’s Nonhyeon-dong on the 5th.

Through “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” Kim Won-seok PD, as well as colleagues Park Minyoung, Yoo Ahin, Seo Hyorim and Kim Ha-gyoon, we get questions from them for reporter Park Yoochun to go through a 5:1 interview.

Kim Won-seok PD: When will you have time? I couldn’t get through to you via phone too. Amongst Seonjun, Yongha and Crazy Horse, who can you portray best?

First, I want to apologize to the director. I didn’t avoid him on purpose; I fainted on the broadcast of the last episode (2nd). As for JYJ World Tour, I had to go to America on the 7th, and planned to return to Korea within the month. When I returned to Korea, I would go visit you. As for the characters, I have the most confidence in Seonjun. To be honest, I think all are difficult to portray, but I had already done Seonjun’s, but if I want to try to be the charming “Yeorim” Gu Yongha and beastly “Crazy Horse” Moon Jaeshin, I think there goes another overnight shooting.

Park Minyoung (Kim Yunhee): After living as Lee Seonjun for 6 months, which scene left the deepest impression on you?

When I had the determination to enter the school. When father (Kim Kapsoo) congratulated me, I felt like the approved entry to the school was a dream. I felt really good. Also, the scene where I told Kim Yunhee “I like you, Kim Yunhee.” When we were shooting this, time was running out since there was a lot of people at the place where we shot the scene, Yongin Village. But I didn’t know how to act well, and the feeling that I could digest many scenes at once was very good.

Yoo Ahin (Moon Jaeshin): When you’re choosing your next work, you’re pleased with the script, but what if you’re unhappy with the actress? Or vice versa, the actress is good but the script isn’t?

Is this a Yoo Ahin question? Ah, how could you ask this kind of question… Uhm, personally I feel that even if I don’t really like the actress, but if there is a something for me to learn, I would go for it. Because I won’t change my mind due to my personal emotions. Say what, a actress that I like? Like filming with an actress like Kim Taehee but the script isn’t that good? (Laughs) No matter what, I still need to act in it. Using my acting to fill up the incomplete parts, the end product should be interesting.

Seo Hyorim (Ha Hyoeun): When do you feel the most tired while you’re acting? To Lee Seonjun are you happy with the character?

It’s the weather. When it’s summer, the hotness was undescribable. During October, it was so cold that my mouth froze. When we were in Gyeongbuk filming, the temperature was -10 degrees Celsius. After the fourth episode, the script came out abit later, and we had to film it overnight. Whenever I’m free, I’ll take out the script to memorize the lines. Almost died. As for Seonjun, I’m quite similar to him since both of us stick to our principles, but the difference is the way we express our thoughts. Seonjun is good. For me, other than Hyunjoong, I don’t have much friends in the acting industry and am envious of Seonjun who has a lot of friends.

Kim Ha-gyoon (Teacher who teaches Yoochun acting): Although you’re at your peak as a singer, but as an actor, your ability is outstanding. Have you ever thought of concentrating on acting?

I feel so honored. In May, I was learning from teacher about techniques of acting for the whole month. From how the plot started to character anaylsis, I learnt a lot. (Kim … said that Yoochun was very serious, and he concentrated strongly, like a sponge, he could absorb things very fast) In the beginning, I didn’t know what kind of person Lee Seonjun is. I was very irritated, very angry, so I studied about Lee Seonjun everyday, and without me knowing, I was Lee Seonjun. Singer Micky Yoochun will never give up, but to actor Park Yoochun, his ambition is wide.

[Trans] 101112 Lee Seonjun’s (Micky Yoochun) Moustache in Sungkyunkwan Scandal Has Gathered Much Attention from Netizens

On November 2nd, which KBS2TV broadcasted an episode of the Monday-Tuesday drama “Sungkyunkwan Scandal”, Lee Seonjun and Kim Yunhee (Park Minyoung) had become a married couple, and stayed in Sungkyunkwan as professors. Lee Seonjun had grown a moustache on his philtrum and chin, which is a different image from his school days. His strict attitude had made students fear him.

Recently, Lee Seonjun’s moustache had been a hot topic among people. After the drama had aired, some audience expressed “Did time only worked its magic on Lee Seonjun? Other characters looked the same, why does only Lee Seonjun grow a moustache?” and “It made us laugh to no end, we couldn’t focus on the drama,” etc. while some could not accept the moustache. Other audiences stated on the message board, “It felt like an unique charm of Lee Seonjun’s”, “At first I wasn’t used to it, but after awhile the moustache look was okay,” etc. Netizens are currently joining Lee Seonjun’s moustache look together with other pictures, making it a prank product.

[News] 101112 Yoo A-in mentioned about Yoochun in his interview

Actor Yoo A-in [Chae Ki-won/10Asia]

10: In “SungKyunKwan Scandal,” all four of you were of similar ages. How was that?
Yoo: I was prejudiced about them. I wasn’t able to get close to them in the beginning because of the thought that celebrities will be like this and that and that’s why I usually don’t become friends with them. (laugh) I understand that they can’t help being self-centered, that what they feel is important, and they need to receive more attention. But I rid myself of a lot of them — through Yuchun, my prejudice of idols and Hallyu stars, through Min-young my prejudice of fellow actresses, and through Song Joong-ki my prejudice of actors. So in the way that Jae-shin came out of his shell and came to accept Yoon-hee, Seon-joon and Yong-ha, I myself came to see these people in real life in a good way which means I myself matured as well. I had fun shooting the drama. I just wish we had more honest conversations about acting. But what I thank Joong-ki for is that he gave me a lot of advice comfortably. I came to realize that he’s not just plain sly, he’s sly in the sense that he wants what’s best for everyone.

10: Writing is an act which contains your will to express something that you feel inside. You had mainly been writing on your Cyworld account and started writing on Twitter a few months ago. How has that been?
Yoo: When I’m away from home, I’m in dire need of the time and space that will let me go back to being myself. For three to four months, I felt uncomfortable not being able to live my life as myself. So being able to voice what I think and communicate with people through Twitter as Uhm Hong-shik, as actor Yoo A-in, was very comforting. In a way, it’s a blessing and honor, and I learned a lot from the thousands of responses I receive from my single comment. Of course, some were just light or routine remarks but quite a lot of the responses awakened me and taught me lessons, as well as reminding me of what a closed person I am. So, I’m going to stay on Twitter. (laugh)

10: I actually think it’s not easy to do Twitter because thousands and ten of thousands of people are reading it.
Yoo: A lot of people want me to stay on Twitter but at the same time, it makes me speak up less. And it’s not easy to go against that. It’s not like I was born as an independence fighter or anything of the sort. I like what’s comfortable and I wish I had nothing to worry about. But that really means I would have isolated myself and I know it’ll turn me into a miserable person so I sometimes force myself to write. It’s not because I’m dying to write but because not being able to makes me very unhappy so I’m trying to continuously tell myself ‘I can do it, I can speak up, I will keep speaking, I know you want to put a gag in my mouth but I will keep speaking, I will not lose, I am not incompetent.’ It’s very hard work.

10: So are you saying that it’s difficult to be your real self but you want to continuously make sure that you are being real?
Yoo: Yes, and not just about acting. I think it’s about everything about being someone in his twenties. I actually have a desire to just live a very peaceful life. I want to live comfortably, and of course I also sometimes think that I would like to make money by just smiling pretty but I think I also trying to push such thoughts out and try to force myself to be someone in his twenties. I’m someone who matured early and I know the rules to living life tactfully but I have to let go of them. I’m in the dilemma of being too realistic versus trying not to stay realistic because being mature means that you know the answers so you will stop and settle to protect what you have but that’s immature. I think the true way to be mature is to continuously seek answers, ask questions and go forward as well as fail at times. That’s why I wish people would use the world ‘youth’ in a different way. When people say, “He’s still in his youth,” it usually means that person is immature and a passionate idealist but I wish it could be used to refer to young people who are truly mature and are upright.

10: You’ve also written about labor and human rights-related issues on your Twitter account. And they’re thoughts that anybody with a mind for social issues could have but celebrities are usually branded as being ‘political’ the moment they mention speak their mind on such matters. this could end up being very bothersome for you so aren’t you worried about that?
Yoo: I am. I’m worried and scared to death. I can’t sleep at night after writing such things. (laugh) But from what I judge, someone who can’t do that is dead, or at least partially. I want to live a decent life, not just be alive because I’m breathing. I even think I should be allowed to talk about politics because like actress Ko Hyun-jung’s character says in SBS TV series “The President,” it’s irresponsible to regard politics as a bad thing when we’re all citizens living under strict political control. I won’t do something just because it’s good or criticize sharply just because something’s a social issue. I just think that I can at least play the role of introducing what I can truly relate to, express what I feel feel and share thoughts with other people. Although it’s sad that that’s very difficult to do in the society we live in and the celebrity system I’m in.

10: I think it must be tiring to have to live according to a system or standards of society even when they don’t mean much to you. Plus Korea has very high ethical standards of people who are in the arts in the commercial sense.
Yoo: Because the moment I package myself, I’m not just showing myself to people in a certain way but I trap myself in that packaging. That’s why I’m trying to make the size of my wrapping large and show that I’m someone who’ll curse, who will drink and go clubbing. It’s nothing really but I need to make conscious efforts to do that because it’s as if right now, it’s not permitted.

10: When you create the image of being an ethically faultless person, sometimes that’s all there is left about you.
Yoo: That’s right. As our perspective broadens and our standard for culture heightens, I also want there to be a larger and broader variety of people to exist but I’m just a single 25-year-old actor. That’s why I think it would be nice to have a senior in his 30s or 40s who says this because I could come off as rude. Someone who can show that they can find happiness as a human being even as a celebrity.

10: Won’t that change since we live in times where even actors are changing?
Yoo: I do feel that it’s changing. But the problem is that young actors or singers adjust themselves to the system they’re in. As if it’s only natural. The young kids are thinking, ‘This is what celebrities should do, they should smile and act like this, and celebrities have to wear hats that look like this…’ I think it’s very, extremely bad to get into this business before establishing your moral standards. That’s why I wish young people wouldn’t become celebrities at a young age. I too wouldn’t if I could go back to being young. Also, it’s almost impossible to establish a real sense of your self. Some people may say I regard work too lightly which they’re right about. My work is not serious compared to my life and even more so compared to the real life I live as a human being. So whoever wants to become a celebrity, I hope they starts with the thought that becoming a happy person comes before becoming a happy actor. I just want everyone to be happy.

10: Well if you’ve had a hard enough of a time that you never wanted to be an actor ever again, what has pushed you to move forward so far?
Yoo: I think I’ve been honest. (laugh) I was sure of my convictions and the path I need to take, and the reason I could bear through everything was probably because I wasn’t in a rush. For example, people think they can sacrifice and compromise ten years to achieve a huge and ideal dream ten years later. Going to school is similar. You could spend that time in a happier way but you sacrifice yourself to an extent for the future. But I also think that from that process, you can definitely protect your convictions and take a step closer to your goal while living a life you’re happy with. And it doesn’t have to come when I’m 25 but when I’m 35 or 45. I also think it’s better to remember who I am and take a slower path rather than losing myself while trying to shorten that time period. Although I may talk right now as if I know something, I too am not sure of how I’ll change. But I think celebrities saying that they won’t forget their original resolution is different from them saying they will always be humble. Original resolution should be at the bottom of everyone’s hearts and it’s about knowing what you’re working for, what you’re looking for and what your happiness is about. That’s why although it’s supposed to be most important, it gradually becomes second important then third important… then you start to change. So no matter how tough of a time I’m having, I need to make sure it stays my priority! (laugh) Even if I may let the rest of me become more realistic.

[NEWS] Park Yoo Chun: ‘Acting Is Really Enjoyable’

Park Yoo Chun (24), who successfully debuted as an actor by appearing in the drama “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” said, “I really enjoyed acting and I feel like acting continuously from now on. I want to have activities both as a singer and an actor.”

His debut was very electrifying. He gained huge popularity not as a member of Asia’s popular idol group JYJ, which consists of three of the former Dong Bang Shin Ki members, but as actor Park Yoo Chun. His debut drama was “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” and now he can simultaneously chase two goals of singing and acting. He seems to be following after popular singers such as Jeong Ji Hoon (Rain) and Lee Seung Ki, who has been highly acknowledged as an actor as well. The reporter met Park Yoo Chun, who had reportedly been laid up with fatigue for two days after finishing the drama, at the office of JVJ on November 5.

Park came with a fresh appearance after cutting off the long hair that he had grown for the past six months, and he said with a big smile, “Even though I lost almost ten kilograms while filming the drama and I had to be taken to the hospital twice to get an IV, I was really happy while acting.”

Instead of the mature and cold Confucian student Lee Sun Joon, who emphasized courtesy and principles, rookie actor Park Yoo Chun told a long story about himself while maintaining a bright smile on his face. But Park Yoo Chun in his story sounded so dogged and firm, and it seemed that his firm and ceaseless effort during the filming of the drama might be the reason he could gain this fervent popularity at this moment.

Question: The Hanbok fit you nicely. Do you usually wear a Hanbok?

▲ Not at all. I do not wear a Hanbok even during the national holidays. But I felt good because I could fortunately hear that the Hanbok fit me nicely. I did not have any fear about wearing a topknot and Hanbok, rather I felt that it might be better for me to distinguish my new appearance as an actor from my previous appearance as a singer. In the first shoot, I had scenes in which I usually took a walk without any lines simply to hide my inexperienced acting, but people who saw my scenes in the first episode said that I looked just like a classical scholar, so I felt very good. But I actually felt distressed about acting after hearing this good evaluation, saying my appearance looked well-matched to the drama. My mother once paid a sudden visit to the set and she was reportedly so surprised to see my appearance after the makeup because I looked like a different person and also looked very nice in costume.

Question: A long script for a historical drama might have been very difficult for you. How was it?

▲ Yes, it was very difficult. The director had told me that I did not need to speak my lines with a tone for a traditional history drama since our drama was a fusion historical drama, but I was continuously conscious of the particular voice tone for a historical drama due to my preconception about the historical drama genre. Even though I had gone through a hard time due to my tone of voice when speaking lines, I tried to memorize the whole script since I thought that I should. I heard people’s advice in the beginning saying that I might come to beg for even two hours of sleep in the end due to the stress over memorizing lines, and it actually happened in the end, but I tried my best not to make mistakes coming from not memorizing my lines.

Question: You had shown gradually better acting as the episodes went on in your debut drama, even in the situation where you also had to perform concerts as a member of JYJ.

▲ I had been taken to the hospital twice due to the terribly tight schedule, and that is when I learned that actors were taking great pains to do their jobs. When I had spare time, I had to choose to sleep rather than to eat and actually I could not eat very well due to the stress coming from my anxiety about acting. I ate snacks not to suffer from indigestion, so I ended up losing almost ten kilograms. I should have slept while moving, but I had to memorize the script instead; what was worse, I also had to perform on the stage as a singer. I was in a tight situation, so I could not think about anything else but acting and I came to concentrate more on my script only. Even though many people came to the set, I could not see them because I had to look at the script. At the end of the drama, I really could not find time for participating in the drama shooting, so I put more effort in practicing acting. I had to go out for concerts, so I prepared much more for acting because I thought that I might feel sorry even more for the other actors if I made a mistake during filming. I sometimes heard other actors’ saying “Your acting looked better than before,” but actually I could not afford to enjoy people’s praise at all.

Question: What do you think about acting now that you have done it?

▲ I really enjoyed it. I definitely found it exciting and I felt more desire toward acting. I got a lot of help from actor Kim Kap Soo, who played my father in the drama, by seeing his good acting and taking acting lessons from him. Sometimes, I got goose bumps while acting together with him. He had a powerful force in his acting, and I think that I could present unexpected good acting sometimes thanks to his harmony. I really want to become an actor like Kim Kap Soo and Kim Yoon Seok.

Question: The scene in which you confessed your homosexuality on the street was outstanding. Many people who had seen your tearful acting were surprised a lot.

▲ When we filmed the scene, we really did not have much time for filming. The schedule was so tight that we might not be able to film any scene again even though there was a mistake. Many people were watching the set when we filmed the scene in the folk village located in Yongin, but I thought that I had to film the scene in only one take without any mistake. Fortunately I could film the scene after making only one mistake. I made a mistake because I cried too much. Actually, I felt really great about my tears that were automatically coming from my eyes (laugh). I used to feel curious about actors who can cry while acting on the set with no background music. I had thought, “How can they cry that well, does somebody play sad music for them?” But I found out that I could cry when I was immersed in emotion. After that, I could have a kind of confidence about crying or any scene requiring emotion.

Question: When was the happiest moment for the character Lee Sun Joon and for you as an actor? And what did you agonize about?

▲ I found out later when I looked into the script again after finishing the drama that the happiest moment for Lee Sun Joon was when his father congratulated him for his entrance to Sungkyunkwan. And I felt good while acting, thinking, “I might be able to try to act again from now on.” Also, I felt sorry that I could not play the character Lee Sun Joon — who had a huge ambition, enough to go down in history — very well maybe because I was not that good at acting. I should have shown the progress of how the cold character in the beginning became a warm human in the end, but I felt bad because the same character from the beginning seemed to be exposed again in the end due to my inexperienced acting.

Question: The last episode has aroused controversy.

▲ Yes, it is true that it should have been extended by adding more episodes, not to finish the story in a hurry. Personally, I wanted it to avoid the happy ending because many gloomy topics had been developed at the end, so I thought that it would be better if the drama finished with a sad ending. But after I received the script for the last episode, I changed my thought to show something in the last episode. If there were no comical setting in the end, I could have felt something was lacking.

Question: Women in their thirties and forties, who had no idea about Micky Yoochun, have become your fans. What do you think?

▲ I also heard that. I do not know why it had happened (laugh). When I filmed the drama on the set in Yongin, an old woman recognized me as “Lee Sun Joon,” and she was glad to see me. Her family members also told me that she felt excited to see me. Maybe it was because the drama was about a story in the past. Anyway, I really appreciated it.

Question: From when have you wanted to become an actor?

▲ I have wanted to act from the time when I had actively performed as a member of the group Dong Bang Shin Ki after releasing our second album. And I could confirm what I had thought at that time by acting in this drama. I had the thought that actors could become various characters within many different works, so they might be able to express themselves in many ways and come to feel free from restrained feelings, and actually I could release my stress more by acting rather than feeling distressed from acting at this time. I felt good when I played Lee Sun Joon because he was a character who directly pointed out anything wrong from the beginning, which was totally different from me, who usually restrains my feelings until the last moment, when I cannot endure it any more. Action scenes were also very helpful for releasing stress.

Question: Many people have spoken highly of your humble attitude as if you were a completely rookie actor even though you are actually a star singer.

▲ When I went to Japan to advance into the Japanese music industry, I had become a rookie singer again. At that moment, I realized that everybody, whether he or she is popular or not, are all human beings and people should not show off their popularity even though they have gained huge popularity from the public because we are all the same as human beings. In addition, I thought that I should behave as a rookie actor because actually I was.

Question: Lee Sun Joon in the drama agonized about the future of Joseon Dynasty. What do you agonize about?

▲ Actually, I am very much worried about my father who is hospitalized these days due to an illness. I had felt sorry that I could not visit him often while filming the drama. In addition, I want to become a person whom my close friends and people right next to me can respect. I want to be sincerely respected by close people. If I could not take care of people around me enough due to busy schedule up until now, I will take care of them with my true heart from this moment. Then I think that I might become a better person.

[TRANS] 101107 JYJ… WHERE IS THE END OF THEIR ARTISTIC TALENTS?

Breaking the prejudice of ‘Idol’s origin’, showing the possibilities of an all-rounded entertainer.

This year, on the 26th of January, in Seoul’s Sejong Cultural Center, it was the day that Kim JunSu turned into a musical actor from a pop idol singer with his debut performance in ‘Mozart!’. The 3000-plus seats were packed, the ticket responses showing an unprecedented degree of enthusiasm.

After the 2 hour and 20 minute performance ended, a person from the entertainment industry who was seated in the audience said, “His artistic talent is really unlimited, a thumbs-up.”
And after 10 months later, the initial individual praises for Kim JunSu now falls onto the members of JYJ (JaeJoong, YooChun and JunSu).

▲ Park YooChun’s acclaimed acting in ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’
At first when news of him challenging historical dramas surfaced, many people were doubtful. Some people even said that it was an unnecessary challenge, even if it’s a historical drama with modern colors, to people with such strong images such as him, it is obviously too difficult.

Adding on to the fact that he had stayed so long in the US, it was unknown whether he would be able to use the right accents and pronunciation necessary in a historical drama. Would he turn out to be like the majority of idol singers who turned into actors who want to experience acting through a challenge? From the start, concerns like this have already existed.

However, using sincere eye expressions and a steady deliverance of his lines, along with his acting surpassing expectations, he has received the praises of the audience, having the reputation of being the ‘model of all idol singer-turned-actors’. Especially, along with superb actors such as Song JoongKi, Park MinYoung, Yoo Ah In and others, he acted out perfectly the friendships, love and frustration of a Sungkyunkwan scholar.

Appearing in ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’, numerous topics of discussion have emerged, and also getting the audience to support ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’ enthusiastically, yet another achievement is the unearthing of a new actor named Park YooChun.

▲ Becoming the musical world’s talent who is cherished by all through ‘Mozart!’, Kim JunSu
When the news of him going into the musical stage emerged, compared to a welcome, negative expressions emerged.

Due to the many singers recently challenging musical acting and failing in the box office, the public opinion of the outside world has not tested its invitation of some stars who have received much criticism for being in musicals.

He who has no acting experience, will be he be able to coordinate with the other actors on stage, would be able to have an emotional communication with the audience down-stage, would he be able to digest this type of musical, many people questioned. Also, when there is an error in the lines or movements, as a newcomer, what would his reactions be like, these are concerns that people had.

But, as soon as the performance started, all doubts immediately vanished. He movingly acted out the life of the musical genius Mozart, who had a thirst for freedom. In this piece of work, through his fine acting performance and voice, he has the audience hypnotized. A Mozart who wears jeans, he used his own interpretation of the conflict and struggles experienced by a child prodigy a few centuries ago.

As a result, at the ’4th Musical Awards’ held in June and at the ’16th Korean Musical Awards’ in October, he won two awards: Best Newcomer Award and the Most Popular Award. In winning these two big awards at the same time, he is the first person.

In the musical market, there will never be people who will relegate him as a ‘product’ who only has a scary influence on the box office again. He is undoubtedly the greatest achievement for the Korean musical world in 2010.

▲ Attracting people’s attention, Kim JaeJoong in ‘Sunao ni Narenakute’
Compared to YooChun and JunSu, his activities in the country are less. However, a cable TV station is going to broadcast his debut Japanese TV drama series ‘Sunao ni Narenakute’, and I believe this will let fans quench their thirst.

In actual fact, the first member of TVXQ to start acting was him. Last year, in ‘Heaven’s Postman’ where he collaborated with Han Hyo Joo which started many topics of discussion, his acting deserves to be reaffirmed, and with more steady acting skills, he starred in ‘Sunao ni Narenakute’.

Japan’s public opinion on the evaluation of his acting is good. In the drama, he is a medical device salesman who feels the pressure as a result of poor sales, has digested fluent Japanese lines, and also amongst Ueno Juri, Eita and other Japanese actors, his acting skills are no less. Ueno Juri praises him as a person who cares about others, and who is also a insightful actor.

Unfortunately, due to going all-out in JYJ’s group activities, for a short period of time, we will not be able to see his activities as an actor in the country. However, he has stepped up into the ranks of actors, what kind of work piece would the next step bring? Now, it is already being anticipated.

After the JYJ members have completed their individual activities, in a period of time the group activities would be going all-out. On the 30th of October, they have successfully completed the Taiwan stop of their world album ‘The Beginning’ showcase, and will go on to their US activities.

Recently, the critics who have praised Kim JunSu in January at the Sejong Cultural Center, have also poured praise over all the members of JYJ.
